ElephantWiFi working with Rugby Borough Council to design and install Town Wide Public WiFi
In September 2015 Rugby Borough Council in conjunction with Warwickshire County Council and RugbyFirst BID asked ElephantWiFi to design a Town Wide public access WiFi solution in time for the 2015 Rugby World Cup event.
The Borough Council was looking to implement a Town Wide solution that not only enhanced the visitor experience to the RWC event to include
covering the entire Fanzone, but included a solution that the people of Rugby can continue to use long after the event was over.
We had just 4 weeks to design, configure, install, test and make live the Town WiFi in time for the Rugby World Cup kick off. It took the cooperation of many, including the local businesses and residence to enable us to work late into the night installing WiFi infrastructure on to CCTV columns, Lampposts and even property.
We thank all involved to help make this happen well in time for the kick off of the first match played on September 18th 2015 between England and Fuji resulting in England’s first win 35-11.
